Week Ender 87
The timelapse of Polish photographer Patryk Kizny at LookyCreative features his work in a compilation, Timelapse Cinematography Showreel.
Not very often do you see smooth movement of the camera in timelapse aided by some type of mechanical boom. The editing can only be done with hours and hours (understatment-of course) of photos. Look closely and there are parts that have a subtle HDR treatment. Maybe some of his mastery will rub off on me. These timelapse vids are tedious to work on having tried a few times.
In Mr. Kinzy’s Showreel there are snippets of gear being used inserted throughout the timelapse. Take a look and head on over to his site for the full version of each video.
Week-Ender 81
Start the week the right way and watch this timelapse.
The video is at 4 minutes that took more than a day to shoot and countess hours on post processing from the master.
My first attempt at HDR tone mapping timelapse.
We start off with normal timelapse and then go into the 3 and 7 bracket tone mapped HDR timelapses.
I wanted to create a sense of colour and insanity that Las Vegas gives you. All from one view point. My balcony. With that restriction can you do it? Well I did it before in my two previous timelapses…
This was harder in a way as there was no single focal point like in the Sydney Harbour piece or the Space Needle piece.
I made a virtue of the HDR tone mapping with the change of pace in the music and also my use of bookends which I love.
There is a very detailed commentary on my website which goes into each shot in detail. It’s worth a listen. philipbloom.net/?p=13307
Music is from “Moon” by the brilliant Clint Mansell
Shot with a Gh2, T2i, T3i, 5Dmk2
To start off the weekend with an awesome timelapse completely shot on a Canon EOS 5D Mark II. The views of the cities and night scapes are some of the best there is. Wait for the whole video to load and turn up the volume. Make sure to enter whole screen mode.
From Dominic Boudreault:
I shot this timelapse montage from late 2010 through early 2011.
One year in the making.
My goal was to show the duality between city and nature.
