It’s been awhile.
2012 was a great shooting year. Projects came and went and I enjoyed every minute of it. Finally, the new Mac Dy photography portfolio site is up. Take a look and let me know what you think.

Impromptu Event Shoot
It just happened. No advance booking or details. Came home to the tune of 200 images with a stomach full of good food.
The Atrium is beautifully lit but a disaster to DSLR white balance. Flash was used on most of the photos (except the 1st and last 2) and had to be off camera for a bit of directional lighting. No flash diffusers were used. Exif details: Canon EOS 7D+Sigma 10-20 f/4-5.6 EX DC HSM+Speedlite 580 EX II on slave mode. For ultra wide angle lenses it is better to use off camera remote flash. Just be creative with your hands and don’t forget to bring a tripod.

OUTTAKES FROM AN EVENT
WITH A FEW GLOWERS TO BOOT
More from Erika’s session.
Photos shot with a Canon EOS 7D+EF 24-70 f/2.8L, EF 70-200 f/2.8L. Captured in RAW, processed with DPP and further enhanced in Photoshop. Glowing orbs were delicately added to conform to Erika’s fairy tale-ish themed party.
Getting up at 7am to get ready for a location shoot is never easy after finishing up a large reunion event the night before. With barely 3 hours of sleep and Manila being in the middle of a typhoon my car sped towards some flooded streets before arriving a little after 8:30.
Despite the bad weather everything went very well, a little more than expected. It helped that Erika and her family were in very bright spirits and were natural in front of the camera. That is already half the battle won.
Thank you, guys for a great time.
Photos below shot with EOS 50D + EF 85mm f1.8/EF 24-70mm f2.8L. Captured in RAW, processed in DPP and further enhanced in Photoshop.
WITH A LITTLE BIT OF DRAMA
To Kaye and family-thank you for trusting me with this special day. There is nothing better for a photographer than being able to immerse oneself in a happy affair.
